It’s now decided, you are coming to Paris. Whether you know what to expect or not, we’ll be happy to welcome you and show you around when you get there. In the meantime, here’s a list of advice that may come in handy as you’re preparing your move:
Plan ahead : moving internationally is a long business and you’ll need to provide your relocation team with a complete list of your belongings and their value, for insurance sakes.
Contact your relocation team sooner than you normally would, as international moves take longer to work out.
As long as the UK remains within the EU, you’ll have no customs formalities to comply with. Depending on the outcome of Brexit, we will update this list and tell you everything you need to know.
As the UK is still part of the EU, you won’t need to apply for a citizen card (carte de séjour) but you are entitled to one if you so desire. In that case, you will need to apply for one to the French government.
As of now (and in the event of the UK leaving the EU with a deal), you only need a valid passport or identification card to enter France.
Your EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) covers you up to March, 29th, 2019, and will allow for reduced (sometimes free) costs in the national healthcare system, but not in the private sector.
Please consider enrolling for travelling insurance, that will cover the rest of your expenses and check with them the possible changes brought about by Brexit.
